Elopement in the Shenandoah Valley

As we all facing these uncertain times, unfortunately, the wedding industry was not an exception. Unfortunately, many couples need to change or cancel the date of the special day planned for a long time ago. Luckily, zoom weddings allow us to make it happen even if our loved ones are far away from us. This gorgeous couple was planning their big wedding this year on June 6th, but unfortunately, they couldn’t do it anymore. Instead, they decided to do the intimate elopement with the views of the Shenandoah mountains. The couple decided to get still married and do a big wedding next year with family and friends. As of right now, the couple was very excited to get married and receive the pictures that will last forever with the most beautiful memories.

Town of Washington

Just 70 miles from Washington D.C, you can find this incredible beautiful small town called β€œWashington,” located in the Shenandoah Valley. The town is more like an English village with a population of 150 people. In July 1749, 17-year old George Washington noted in his journal, β€œin the Blue Ridge Mountains I laid off a town.” The young George Washington laid out Washington's town in the same five-block by the two-block grid that exists today. The Virginia General Assembly officially established the town in 1796; there are now 28 Washingtons in the United States, but β€œThe First Washington of All.”

The Inn at Little Washington

Two young men in 1978 converted a garage on the corner of Main and Middle Streets into a Five Star restaurant. In 1989, the Inn became the first inn to receive the Mobil Travel Guide’s Five Star award. For the first time in their 34 years of rating hotels and restaurants, Mobil announced that The Inn had received 2 Five Star awards. After the announcement went viral, politicians, celebrities, and country leaders went to β€œLittle” Washington to see what is so unique about this place. Later on, the International Herald Tribune chose the Inn as one of the 10 best restaurants globally, and Travel + Leisure Magazine rated The Inn number 1 in North America and number 2 in the world in their World’s Best Awards.

Shenandoah National Park | Engagement session | Laura + Augustinas

This amazing session took place in Shenandoah National Park. For the first time, Laura & Augustinas saw these beautiful mountains with changing fall colors. It was a little bit cold, but still their love you can feel everywhere in the pictures. They love nature and adventures, so I can not imagine the better place then Shenandoah National Park. Can you feel it too? Love is just in the air, and I’m having those stomach butterflies too just for having this opportunity to capture two insanely people in love.

Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park - a beautiful, historic national treasure which is just 75 miles from the Washington, D.C. You can find here a lot of activities and events. There are over 500 miles of hiking (family, twilight, waterfall, dog-friendly) trails along with what many say is the most scenic stretch of the Appalachian Trail.

To enter the National Park there are some fees you need to know: Vehicle - $30, Motorcycle - $25, but if you are planning to visit more than once in a year, I suggest to buy annual pass for - $80, which includes all National Parks in the United States. No need to go just in the Shenandoah National Park, you will be able to go everywhere you want, and you will save a lot of money.

If you are planning an event and you want something unique and to have more nature, Skyland Resort is a perfect venue for weddings, team building retreats, family reunions and other events. The historic Conference Building accommodates up to 100 people.
